RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) invite researchers and data management enthusiasts to the Research Data Day 2025 in North Rhine-Westphalia under the motto "FAIR Data – FAIR Play: Just a Matter of Line-Up". This year’s event highlights game-changing initiatives in research data management, featuring a morning program with a panel discussion by leading NFDI representatives and afternoon information and networking sessions.

We are pleased to announce the seventh FAIRmat Users Meeting, which will take place at the Center for the Science of Materials Berlin (CSMB) on November 20, 2025.

The FAIRmat Users Meeting is a central event for scientists and data stewards in physics, chemistry, and materials science who are passionate about research data management (RDM) and its role in accelerating scientific discovery.

The program will feature talks from the FAIRmat team and NOMAD users, highlighting recent developments and practical implementations. In the afternoon, two hands-on workshops will cover topics ranging from getting started with NOMAD to plugin development and Oasis administration. The day will conclude with the Users-Meet-Developers exhibit, an open forum to showcase work, exchange ideas, and interact directly with NOMAD developers.

The entire FAIRmat team gathers twice a year for the internal FAIRmat Project Meeting to discuss progress and upcoming tasks across all seven Areas. The second Project Meeting of 2025 will take place in November at our headquarters in Berlin.
